TFT's Movie Quote of the Day - November 1

It's Comedy Week for TFT's Movie Quote of the Day. I'll be concentrating on the wackiest comedies that are the very definition of low-brow humor.

Case in point: Saving Silverman.

This horrid movie stars Steve Zahn, Jason Biggs, and Jack Black. It's a ridiculous movie made even more ridiculous by a guest appearance by Neil Diamond himself. But one man steals the show: R. Lee Ermey, who plays an exiled high school football coach with a penchant for unpredictable behavior.

Case in point: after kidnapping Neil Diamond so that Jason Biggs' character won't marry the controlling, loathsome Judith, the boys find the cops hot on their tail. But Coach won't let the Five-O stand in the way of true love, pulling out an uzi and imparting inspirational words to the crew:

"I'd rather be cut down in a hail of gunfire than go back to the big house. Nice meeting you, Mr. Diamond."

Coach would do anything for his boys, including but not limited to breaking them out of jail and helping them kidnap a musical legend. And he's polite, too.

And just like that, he was gone.
